Since it was a quick little project I had to find a few other things to work on. I have a small pile of half finished projects that needed filling or batting that I was out of. My husband was nice enough to get me some more last week so I started working on getting some of those projects finished off. So far I have two pillows done and two wall quilts ready for binding, and I finally got my husbands name tape put on his new back park that he takes to work. I did not get much done but I had fun doing it and I got a few things out of my half finished pile. I hope to finish the binding on the wall quilts today and then I can post pictures of the projects I managed to complete and any others that I get finished today too.

Gift Bag And Chance To Finish Off A Few Projects
The other day I decided to make a gift bag for my friends baby gifts since I still have not gotten to take them over to her yet. I was going through my stuff trying to find something to do for the day. When I found some cute troll character fabric and thought of a straw string bag for some reason. Then I saw the baby gift items sitting on a chair in the corner of the room and thought it might be cute as a gift bag.

Special Touch Baby Gift
One of my friends just has a baby. A few times her family has come over to my house to hang out and I would end up working on some crafts with all the kids. Her kids had asked to make a quilt once. So the last time they visited I had each of her kids make a special square for a baby blanket. It makes for a special touch for their baby sister's blanket.
At one of the visits my friend had found a fabric that she liked and asked if I could make something for the baby with it. I was able to use it for the backing of the blanket. Since my oldest daughter had said that she would make some blocks. We used the extra fabric to make the blocks.
And of course one of my kitties had to be around for every step. I can not sew or craft with out one or both of my kitties around.

Latest crafts
Well over the summer I sure did not do a good job of working on crafts or posting anything. That might have to do with the lack of my friend coming over to craft with me and the fact that I was working during the summer on top of having all six of my kids home from school. I have since quit my job to go back to being a stay at home mom again and possibly going back to school soon, do not know what for yet though, and five of my kids started back to school today. That leave me with just one little guy home this year so lets see what kinds of things we can come up with and work on this year. Oh, I must point out I am still working on my mother-n-laws crass stitch, which i have managed not to touch in at least five months or more now. I am so bad with that thing that is it makes me laugh every time i do think about it. Guess I should slap myself for not doing it again and get started AGAIN.
To start the show and tell so to speak is a picture of some fabric flowers that my oldest daughter has made to put on hair clips. A few of them will be having buttons put in the centers. They should be really cute when they are done.
As for my projects the first one I will share is a Lover's Knot crocheted butterfly. I can honestly say I have been crocheting for years and years but never learned this stitch until now. I was playing a round trying it out and came up with the butterfly. I am thinking about threading a wire around the outside of it so that I can hang it on the wall in my girls' bedroom with out it losing its shape.
A while back my friend brought over some of her patterns and let me look at them and use the ones I wanted. When she finally took them home she had forgotten one pattern that my kids found a few weeks ago. I decided a few days later to cut out the pattern but had to put it a side before I could sew it. A few days ago I decide that I was going to hand sew them. I think that they turned out rather cute.

July 2012
My hand made puppy and kitty toys have finally found a new home. They went to a 10 month old little girl who just moved into the area. Her dad works with my husband. The family moved in a few months after he arrived, so we just met them recently. When they came over for the Fourth of July I found out that she loved them. I guess they have had to keep one at home and one in the car so she always has one with her. Glad I found a home for them with someone that loves them so much.

Brag about my oldest son
My oldest son is making mobiles out of origami figures and branches from our trees which are mostly pecan, walnut and oak. These are the first two that he has made so far. Although he has a box full of origami figures that he is getting ready to make into mobiles.
Zoo animal mobile. A giraffe being circled by an elephant, panther, swan and ladybug that I say looks like a turtle.
Sea creatures and waterfowl mobile. This one has two sharks, two cranes with a sea turtle in the center.
